Lahore: Major portion of the Punjab Police Funds will be spent on the welfare of the Police Constables so that they can perform their duties dedicatedly and efficiently for the security of people.
This was stated by the Inspector General of Police Punjab javed Iqbal, while addressing the participants of the head money distribution ceremony held at Police Headquarters here today.
IGP told that according to black book 2008 Punjab Government has fixed Rs. 17 Crore 66 lac and 50 thousands as head money to arrest the 576 hardened proclaimed offenders among them 307 P.Os have been arrested whereas Rs. 06 crore 37 lac and 50 thousands has been distributed among various police officers/officials.
Today in the head money distribution ceremony IGP distributed an amount of Rs. 2 million among 53 Police Officers/Officials and two police officers also awarded appreciation letters. This amount was distributed on the arrest of 10 most wanted POs of Lahore, Gujrat, Jehlum, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Khanewal, Chaniot, Nankana Sahib and Vehari.
On this occasion the Police Chief appreciated the officers/official for showing their exemplary courage in connection with apprehension of hardened proclaimed offenders across the Punjab.
While addressing the participants, the Provincial Police Chief paid rich tributes to the services of police martyred who scarified their precious lives during their duties. On this occasion IGP advised the police officers/officials to continue Jahad against the culmination of crime and criminals from the society.
The IGP also lauded the efforts and services being rendered by Addl. IG investigation, Punjab, Azam Joyia for police department.
