Criminals creating law and order situation and spreading terror would not be spared: Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, July 29 2013 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig has said that criminals creating law and order situations and spreading terror would not be spared at any cost and brave police officers, who take action against them, would always be rewarded and encouraged.

He expressed these views while distributing head-money among the officers and officials on arresting hardened criminals and proclaimed offenders (POs) at Central Police Office today.

Additional IG Investigation, Capt (r) Muhammad Usman Khattak, SP Investigations Waqas Hassan, AIG Admin and Security Sajjad Hassan Manj and PSO to IG, Muhammad Ali Nekukara, were also present on the occasion. The IG said that in future such ceremonies would be held in Regional Headquarters to encourage cops at their districts level.

The IG distributed Rs 4.05 million head-money among 115 officers and officials of 11 districts on arresting 15 hardened Pos while commendatory certificates were given to 6 officers. DSP Mrs Shahida Nasreen was awarded with Rs 50,000 in cash while SI Farah Waheed won the prize of Rs 2 lakh in cash.

The IG further said that the SOP prepared for the security on 10 Moharam-ul-Haram will be followed on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (R.A) to avert any kind of untoward incident across the province. He informed that around 27952 officers and officials have been appointed for the security of 778 total Majalis and 172 processions. Meanwhile, eight-member delegation of traders called on IG and discussed security related issues at commercial markets.

Inspector General of Police Punjab chairs first ever video RPO Conference to review public security, safety arrangements across Punjab on Chand Raat, Eidul Fitr

Lahore, August 12 2013 (PPI-OT): In order to review the public safety and security arrangements being adopted by the Regional Police Officers across the Punjab, on the occasion of Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitar, the first ever Video RPO Conference was held here today at Central Police Office Lahore under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Khan Baig.

In video Conference; RPO Faisalabad, Javaid Islam, RPO Sargodha, Muhammad Tahir, RPO Multan, Ali Amir Malik, RPO Sahiwal, Muhammad Shehzad Sultan, RPO Bahawalpur, Ahmed Ishaq Jehangir, RPO D.G. Khan, Akhter Umer Hayat, CPO Gujranwala, Raja Riffat Mukhtar and SSP Operations Rawalpindi, Israr Ahmed Khan were present through video link whereas, RPO Sheikhupura, Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh, CCPO Lahore, Shafique Ahmed, DIG Operations Lahore, Rai Muhammad Tahir, AIG Operations, Waqas Nazir and PSO to IGP, Muhammad Ali Naik o Kara personally attended the conference.

While addressing to his maiden video conference, IGP said that the purpose of such conference is only to ensure the presence of the field officers in their regions on the occasion of Eid festival and to save unnecessary official expenditures.

Subject like Security arrangements in shopping malls, markets, mosques, Eidgahs, Madaris, imam bargahs, sensitive points and government buildings along with the security of the Jails and arrest of hardened criminals were included in the agenda.

All RPOs briefed the IGP regarding the region wise security arrangements which they adopted for 15549 mosques, 1197 Imam Bargahs and 1325 public places where Eid prayer will be offered.

RPOs also briefed about the security steps taken by them in all hotels, inn, guest houses and hostels of their regions. They told that all these places were already being thoroughly searched, whereas regular monitoring of these is still going on.

Khan Baig directed the RPOs that with collaboration of elite police force, rangers and jail authorities, security of the jails including sensitive jails should be ensured. He also advised that bullet proof jackets and sand bags must be provided to the official deputed for duty at sensitive security points of the jails. IGP also reviewed the response time in case of occurrence any kind of untoward incident.

He said that the basic responsibility of the police officer is to eliminate crime and those who failed in discharging their duties will face departmental action along with their transfer.

IGP also told that he waved of a complicated procedure of reward payment for the officials who get injured during duty. AIG Operations was given the task to immediately process the reward statement send by any field officer and arrange the money for injured. IGP also said that these officials will be provided free medical treatment by the department.

He also directed them that in case of any important activity or achievement, they keep the media on board so that public get awareness about their performance.

Khan Baig also directed the field police officers to start high level crackdown against the hardened criminals of the province.

Police department feels proud of officials who put their lives at risk and fight bravely against criminals and terrorists: Inspector General of Police Punjab

Lahore, September 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): The department feels proud of police officers and officials who put their lives at risk and fight bravely like national heroes against the criminals and terrorists to provide protection to the lives and properties of the public. They would always be rewarded and encouraged by the police department.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Khan Baig stated this while addressing a prize distribution ceremony held at the CPO today to reward the policemen who took part in an operation and successfully arrested a terrorist from the Lahore Railways station.

Lahore DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai, AIG (Discipline) Romail Akram and PSO to IGP Muhammad Ali Nakokara were also present on this occasion.

The IGP said that a police team was on routine patrolling in the Nolakha police limits when they noticed a suspected person. As the police team tried to stop him, the suspect tried to flee. He was captured immediately and the police recovered a bag from his possession.

The bag was containing 4-Kg active explosive material. The police with the help of bomb disposal experts managed to defuse the explosive device. Because of the dutiful police officials, the city was saved from major tragedy.

IGP Punjab also said that the arrested terrorist was identified as Abdul Nabi, a resident of Kundh Kot, Kashmir. He is being interrogated but the police are yet to establish his link with any militant group.

Meanwhile, IGP Punjab distributed commendatory certificates and cash prizes of Rs 55,000 each to Constables Iqbal, Muhammad Shafique, and Anjum. The police chief also gave cash prizes of Rs 27500 each to Sub-Inspector Shahid Hussain and T-ASI Nauman besides commendatory certificates.

Lahore, November 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig, has issued orders to stand Security on High Alert across the Punjab and all Officers/Officials who were deployed during Muharram for security will remain on duty till coming further orders.

He also directed all Regional and Districts Police Officers to keep themselves vigilant and monitor the activities of those spurious elements who were trying to create misunderstandings among the people.

Provincial Police Chief also directed the Officers to keep a constant eye on those who involved in spreading rumours and misguiding the innocent masses with a view to provide more security to them and their properties.

As per orders of Inspector General of Police Punjab, crackdown against hoarders and violation of containment of Corona pandemic is continued

Lahore, April 01, 2020 (PPI-OT): Punjab Police is strictly ensuring the implementation of instructions issued by Punjab government regarding hoarding act and containment of Corona pandemic so that the expansion of virus may be reduced and precious lives of the citizens may be saved. In this regard, police teams with doctors are on the front line at quarantine centers against corona virus whereas district police chiefs under their supervision are engaged in taking precautionary steps for corona virus with health department and other government institutions. Legal actions against hoarders are being ensured under hoarding act against those who are involved in selling commodities on higher profits.

 

According to the details, the previous day (30th March) police teams established 1462 pickets where 5642 vehicles and 13905 motorcycles have been checked. On these police pickets among 29409 citizens 14947 have been released on warning. Security bonds have been taken from 1593 citizens, 1178 accused have been arrested whereas 413 citizens have taken bails. Collectively, 830 FIRs have been registered in which 1593 accused have been nominated whereas actions have been taken against 56 shops and 05 restaurants.

 

Likewise during last 24 hours, 9 cases have been registered against hoarding and legal action has been taken against 10 accused in this regard. It is here worth mentioning that from 16th March to 30th March 171 cases have been registered against violation of hoarding act. Collectively legal actions have been taken against 191 persons in which 22 persons have been released on warning whereas 85 persons have been arrested.

 

IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir stressed upon regional and district police chiefs to speed up the actions against the violators of law and also submit the progress report of crackdown to Central police office on daily basis. He further said that officers an officials deputed in field should follow and ensure the precautionary measures of pandemic Corona virus and take steps along with other government departments to counter this virus and help out the citizens.

Lahore, April 26, 2020 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that this is a challenging month as our country and nation face crisis of corona pandemic and police are also performing duties of security for religious places and lockdown but despite all of this, protection of wealth and lives of people is the top priority of Punjab Police therefore, strict and speedy crackdown should be undertaken against criminals and anti social elements in all districts by utilizing all available resources and preferential based actions must be ensured against those involved in cases of dacoity, murder ,ransom along with other heinous crimes.

As Police effectively performed during Corona Crisis, we need to continue this practice as our routine. He further said that, for controlling of crimes and security of sensitive religious worship places, special patrolling squads of Police should be formed under smart patrolling plan whereas efficiency of patrolling of Dolphin and PERU teams should be further improved. He further said that in cases of child and women abuse, DPOs should themselves reach at the spot and also supervise the investigation of cases of dacoity, murder, ransom and other heinous crimes so that criminals may be put behind the bars.

IG Punjab acknowledged the performance of districts of Kasur, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Sheikhupura and Nankana and directed to further speed up actions against criminals and tighten the noose around their neck whereas IG Punjab directed to DPOs of Attock, Jehlum, Bahawalpur and Rajanpur to further improve their performance. He said that in order to stop motorcycle theft in Rawalpindi, decoy operation under special strategies should be continued on so that such actions of criminals could be reduced.

He said that in the wake of increase in crime rate in the last decade of Ramzan, comprehensive strategy and planning, actions should be taken and crackdown against such anti social elements should be speeded up and intelligence based operations should be conducted on their hideouts so that such professional criminals and enemies of wealth and lives of people may be put behind the bars speedily. He further said that during the Ramzan, RPOs and DPOs should themselves pay field visit for inspection of security arrangements of A category mosques, Imam barghas, worship places of minorities and other sensitive places and also brief the deputed officers and officials about best performance of their duties.

He further said that in failure upon arrest of dangerous proclaimed offenders, circle officers and SHOs should not be given field postings whereas departmental action should be taken against those officers who are involved in flawed investigation. He further said that search sweep combing and intelligence based operations should be speeded up in the vicinity of sensitive worship and public places whereas senior officers should themselves go into field for inspection of security duty of sensitive places on daily basis.

Likewise, stern legal actions should also taken against those involved in aerial firing, display of weapons, violation of loud speaker act, drugs peddlers especially big drugs baron so that lives and properties of people could be saved by maintaining supremacy of law and order. These views were expressed by him when he was directing to all RPOs and DPOs in video link crime meeting held at Central Police Office. During the meeting, RPOs and DPOs briefed IG Punjab in detail about crime graph and police actions in their respective districts.

During the meeting, situation of crimes including murder, dacoity, ransom, arrest of proclaimed offenders, non compliance of complaints submitted by the citizens and matters of Police services were discussed by IG Punjab whereas with respect to crackdown administrative matters, IG Punjab officers that for better output they should take best performance from their subordinates and also improve supremacy of law and public service delivery mechanisms.

He further said that, all officers should ensure their presence to public at any cost abiding by the office hours and the officers who delay relocation of complaints of the public shall not only be answerable but also face departmental inquiry and departmental action. He further directed that, all available resources should be utilized for security of the citizens in Ramzan ul Mubarak and all DPOs should personally monitor security arrangements of sensitive mosques, Imam Bargahs, along with important buildings and markets on daily basis.

He emphasized upon that checking of the citizens on entry and exit points of province and cities should be tightened up. As per directions of IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements is continued

Lahore, June 07, 2020 (PPI-OT): As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements in all districts of the province is continued on and in this regard Attock police under supervision of district police officer Syed Khalid Hamdani achieved landmark success after clutching the necks of criminals.

District police officer Syed Khalid Hamdani shared police report progress and told that police teams under National Action Plan undertook search operations during last month in the whole district and arrested total 446 criminals including 50 proclaimed offenders involved in 377 cases of murder, attempt to murder, theft, dacoity and kidnapping in ransom and recovered huge amount of automated weapons and drugs including 03 klashankoves, 18 rifles, 18 guns, 45 pistols, 01 carbine and 224 bullets of different bores from the accused and cases have been registered against them.

While undertaking a strict lockdown across the district Attock Police recovered 80.968 kg chars, 02 kg heroin 173 litre alcohol and 1.600 kg opium have been recovered from the accused. Likewise, in a crackdown against gamblers 10 cases have been registered whereas, record of 800 suspected persons has been checked in different areas during search operation. 600 rental houses have been checked, security arrangements of 700 sensitive educational institutions have also been checked, 500 hotels have been checked, 15 bus terminals have been checked whereas 800 sensitive and important public places have been checked.

Likewise, police also bound 65 individuals for purpose of bail under Z and F 107 and 109 for protection. Attock police during this month registered 07 cases against power theft. During month of May Attock Police due to its effective patrolling, pickets and positive strategy controlled the incidents of terrorism, kidnapping, dacoity, looting under force, extortion, robbery to larger extent.

According to DPO Attock Syed Khalid Hamdani, Attock Police is performing its duties diligently for ensuring equal implementation of law and protection of wealth and lives of people and there shall be no compromise over peace and protection of lives and wealth of public in this regard. Moreover, Attock Police is always alert and ready even for sacrificing their lives for protection of wealth and lives of people.

IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir took significant steps for saving precious lives of human due to kite flying

Lahore, July 27, 2020 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that it is the top priority of Punjab Police to provide safety to precious lives of the citizens by ensuring strict ban on manufacturing of kite and its metallic strings, it’s selling, buying and usage. In this regard, steps under comprehensive strategic are being taken with effective use of available resources so that no family of citizen could face the grief of his separation due to this dangerous game. He further said that police teams in all over the districts are regularly undertaking operations to eliminate kite flying and under zero tolerance policy, actions are being taken against law violators who are involved in kite and metallic string manufacturing, selling and buying and its use.

He further added that besides timely actions and steps by police, it is mandatory to tighten the rules by enhancing punishments and amount of fines for elimination of kite flying and with this respect, Punjab police has sent a letter to Addl Chief secretary (Home) bearing suggestions regarding amendments in rules for enhancing punishments and fines and for taking more steps.

In a letter sent to Addl chief secretary (Home) by IG Punjab, suggestions have been given and tightening the rules by increasing punishments and fines for saving of precious human lives by kite flying so that such law violators involved in dangerous game and business may be clinched by their necks. It has further been said in the letter that kite and string manufacturers should be awarded imprisonment form one year to five years with fine of amount 05 lac to 20 lacs or both punishments.

Likewise, for selling of kites and strings, there should be imprisonment of one year to five year whereas fine should be from 02 lac to 05 lacs or both punishments together whereas upon violation of law by kite flying, imprisonment should be from 03 months to one year and fine should be from 50 thousand to 01 lac or both punishment should be awarded.

It has been suggested in the letter that FIA cyber crime wing should be directed for taking actions against individuals involved in online business of kite flying through Facebook and websites whereas services of federal board of revenue and ministry of commerce should be sought for banning import of raw materials required for manufacturing of metallic string.

It has further been said in the letter that easy bail procedure given in already existing laws of kite flying along with low conviction rate in punishment and fine, absence of legal action for online selling and buying of kites and metallic strings have caused increase in kite flying by which despite strict actions by police, sad incidents are occurring. In the letter, details of actions undertaken by Lahore police in first six months of current year against kite flying has been shared that police actions of Lahore police against kite flying in current year has been increased to 03 percent as compared to previous year.

From 1st January to 30th June, 8721 FIRs have been registered against kite manufacturers, fliers and sellers. 47 FIRs have been registered on kite manufacturing, 297 FIRs upon selling and 8377 FIRs have been registered against fliers of kites whereas police among arrested 8812 law violators, recovered 95102 kites, 2647 strings, 7467 Goots, 62525 kite paper rims, 593 kite making sticks of bamboo, 37 gum boxes, 10 printing plates along with other material. Copy of letter issued by Central Police Office has also been sent to Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Punjab and Chief Secretary Punjab.

IG Punjab issued directions to IAB branch regarding quick resolution of complaints against police submitted by the citizens

Lahore, July 27, 2020 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that open court at central police office on daily basis which was postponed due to corona pandemic should be held and started immediately and in this regard AIG complaints has been directed to hear the problems of citizens coming to open courts by ensuring all SOPs with respect to prevention of Corona virus and also submit weekly based progress report. He further said that it is top priority of Punjab Police to compensate the complaints related with police by the citizens and for this purpose, system of self accountability has a cardinal value for improving overall performance of force despite resolution of complaints of citizens.

He further said that process of inspection of model police stations and police offices in all the districts should be conducted minutely and with full commitment and inspection should be undertaken by keeping in view the 34 SOPs with respect to inspection and also submits detailed report to him with respect to implementation of every point on monthly basis. These views were expressed by him when he was directing to officers in a session held at central police office today.

During the session, Addl IG Internal accountability branch Azhar Hameed Khokhar presented a report containing inspection of different districts and told that teams of IAB conducted inspection of around 341 offices and police stations from 1st January to 30th June across the province whereas 234 inquires have been undertaken in all regions of the province including Lahore, among these inquiries, 167 have been completed and 67 are under process. He further told that 59 out of 66 complaints received through Chief Minister office has been resolved whereas 07 complaints are further investigated for the facts whereas 155 out of 179 complaints sent by IG Punjab has been resolved and 24 complaints are under investigation for facts.

During the session it was further told that recommendations for taking actions against 56 DSPs and 94 SHOs have been sent to respective RPOs and DPOs for their negligence of not reaching at the spot of heinous crimes, non registration of Zimnis and violation of different SOPs. IG Punjab directed to officers that discipline matrix should be ensured to be followed in the process of punishment and reward and punishments should be awarded against those who committed negligence in accordance with the SOPs.

He further said that inspection and monitoring of all projects and offices should be continued for improving performance of force and for making professional objectives more transparent. He also directed officers to move into field by themselves and examine the working of offices and police stations for resolution of public issues. In the session, Addl IG IAB Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG IAB Imran Mehmud, AIG Inquiries Umar Farooq Salamat, AIG complaints Muhammad Naveed along with other officers were present.

Lahore, July 28, 2020 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that in order to reduce spread of corona, officers and officials in all over the districts should perform their duties with more commitment, spirit, and diligence and also ensure implementation of instructions and precautionary measures issued by Punjab government. He further said that field officers should personally supervise the observance of precautions in field areas and special focus should be kept on implementation of SOPs so that precious lives of citizens may be saved by reducing the spread of pandemic virus.

He further said that there should be no interruption in transport carrying medicine and edible commodities whereas with the coordination of government departments, actions should be continued in markets, bazars and other public places. Moreover law violators citizens should realize about following of SOPs that following the precautionary measures are beneficial for them. These views were expressed by IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir while directing to officers at central police office.

In the session, IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir was told that in operation started since 6th June across the province, around 242391 shops have been checked and up till now 24088 shops have been sealed and closed upon violation. On roads, 368914 motorcycles, 111304 vehicles and 69335 public transport vehicles have been checked among which 234418 vehicles, motorcycles and transport vehicles have been imposed fines by civil administration on violation of instructions.

Likewise, with respect to implementation of SOPs, 350097 citizens have been intercepted for checking and 79372 persons have been fined by civil administration on violation of SOPs. Actions taken on previous day, IG Punjab was apprised that on 24th July, 3647 shops have been inspected across the province and 234 shops have been sealed and closed under violation of SOPs. Likewise 6848 motorcycles, 1889 vehicles and 1151 public transport vehicles have also been checked and upon violation of SOPs, the civil administration imposed fines on 1485 vehicles, motorcycles and public transport vehicles.

Collectively, 4871 citizens have been checked and 5153 citizens were fined by civil administration upon violation of SOPs. IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir directed to regional and district heads of police to speed up actions upon violation of SOPs and emphasized upon that officers and officials deputed in field must ensured the precautionary measures of Corona virus so that they may save themselves from pandemic virus and may serve the duties of saving citizens from Corona in better way.

As per directions of IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastagir crackdown against anti-social elements and criminals is continued

Lahore, March 15, 2020 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir sought a report containing police actions against criminals and anti-social elements from all RPOs and DPOs of the province and also directed to speed up the intelligence based operations so that properties and lives of people may be secured and service delivery may be improved. Likewise, under the supervision of DPO Mandi Bahauddin Nasir Sial, police teams during actions against proclaimed offenders, court absconders, thieves, dacoits, drugs dealers and illegal Arms holders arrested 201 proclaimed offenders implicated in heinous crimes during last month.

 

Police teams also seized 21 kalashankoves, 17 guns, 14 rifles and 74 pistols and registered 124 cases against the offenders. In a campaign against drugs dealers, 53 cases have been registered and 32 kg chars and 225 bottles of wine have been recovered. Whereas 38 lac rupees have also been recovered from arrested accused of three gangs and amount of more than 18 million rupees have been recovered from the accused involved in theft, dacoity, cattle lifting, robbery and vehicles lifting, moreover the said stolen amount has been handed on to real owners.

 

In an action against gamblers and kite flying hundreds of kites and kite metallic threads have been recovered whereas 33 cases have been registered against power theft. DPO Mandi Bahauddin said that the door of his office will remain open for public and provision of justice is among his top priorities, open courts are being held in this regard.

 

DPO Nasir Sial said that elimination of crime form the society is top priority of district police, the criminal activities are being noosed in this regard and district police is fully alert in maintaining law and order and also securing lives and properties of the citizens. IG Punjab strictly emphasized that the security plan of all sensitive places, religious spots, educational institutions and public places should be reviewed and deputed officials on security duty should be given briefing regarding sensitivity of their duties and challenges posed to them so that they may perform their duties in an efficient way.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar completed 40 days of taking command of Punjab Police, performance report issued

Lahore, March 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, after assuming the command of Punjab Police, the positive results of the measures taken for public service and police welfare have come out and in this regard, the IG Punjab has issued a performance report for the first forty days.

 

In his message to the people and media representatives of the province, IG Punjab said that after assuming the command of the Punjab Police, he took necessary steps to raise the welfare and morale of the police force, as a result of which the performance of the police force improved considerably.

 

Dr. Usman Anwar told about the arrest of dangerous criminals, suppression of terrorism and ongoing operations against drug dealers during the last 40 days. He said that 9,000 proclaimed offenders including 1400 proclaimed offenders of a category wanted in heinous incidents of dacoity, robbery, murder and kidnapping for ransom were handcuffed during the last 40 days.

 

Similarly, with the help of Interpol, 8 dangerous proclaimed offenders have been arrested from abroad and brought to Pakistan during the last fortnight, while many proclaimed offenders are being brought to Pakistan this month after arresting them with the help of Interpol. IG Punjab said that CTD conducted more than 200 intelligence-based operations during this period in which 4 dangerous terrorists were brought to justice while 47 were arrested.

 

Dr. Usman Anwar said 22 brutal dacoits and murderers who fired at the police during confrontation met their end. He said that in result of firing by dangerous murderers, dacoits and proclaimed offenders at police, these 22 callous criminals were killed and among them 3 accused were those involved in four incidents of dacoity and rape of women.

 

Whereas, 27 injured companions of dacoits and robbers who were killed in multiple encounters with the police were taken to the hospital by the policemen in the spirit of humanity. IG Punjab said that one policeman was martyred while 6 others were injured in the exchange of fire with robbers, dacoits and criminals. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is standing with the family of their martyrs and no effort will be spared for their welfare.

 

IG Punjab said that the police arrested and sent more than 400 accused of 140 groups of dacoits involved in various incidents of dacoity, robbery, murder and banditry and sent them to jail, while more than 1000 incidents of dacoity, robbery, banditry and theft were traced out from these arrested accused.

 

Dr. Usman Anwar said that further action has been started by registering cases on 16500 pending applications of robbery, dacoity and theft during forty days. He said that these applications were lying pending before taking of his charge. Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the above mentioned time period, 4300 drug dealers who pushed the young generation into the swamp of drugs have been arrested and sent to jails and they will be given severe punishments.

 

IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police is performing its duties with zeal and it is also the duty of the people to report the activities of terrorists, criminals, anti-social elements and drug dealers to the police without any fear so that the society can be protected. IG Punjab said that the cooperation of citizens is essential in solving crimes, so go ahead and support the police in eliminating crimes.

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken notice of the incident of killing of retired SP Farhat Abbas in Millat Park area of Lahore and has asked CCPO Lahore for incident report. IG Punjab visited the residence of deceased retired SP Farhat Abbas in Millat Park. Dr Usman Anwar met the family of the deceased and inquired about the incident.

IG Punjab also inspected the scene of the incident and while taking a briefing from the officers regarding the incident, ordered to form a special team to arrest the accused. IG Punjab directed that all the available evidence including the footage of Safe City cameras should be carefully examined and the accused should be arrested and brought to book as soon as possible. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the accused will be punished.

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Homeless and destitute children and youths deserving of social attention and support will be taken to the relevant institutions after registration in Police Protection Centers where they will be treated and rehabilitated. The police teams under the leadership of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar are actively engaged to eradicate crimes and protect the lives and property of citizens across the province.

Under the supervision of RPOs, CPOs and DPOs, the crackdown against habitual and professional criminals and anti-social elements is underway, in which thousands of criminals have been arrested and imprisoned, while at the same time stolen property worth crores of rupees and hundreds of stolen motorcycles and vehicles have also been recovered and handed over to their owners.

According to the details, during the last 70 days, the teams of Punjab Police arrested more than 62 thousand proclaimed offenders in various crimes in the province, including 3300 of A category involved in other serious crimes i.e. murder, dacoity, robbery and kidnapping for ransom and 21332 criminals and proclaimed offenders involved in other various crimes.

Police teams arrested 965 dacoit gangs across the province and recovered more than Rs 72 crore worth of stolen property. 118 stolen vehicles and 1682 motorcycles were recovered from criminals in various incidents. Similarly, 7197 cases against drugs were registered across the province and 7344 accused were arrested while more than 3200 kg of drugs were recovered. CTD teams arrested 69 terrorists and miscreants in 301 intelligence-based operations. 4 dangerous terrorists met their logical end in the firing incidents at CTD.

Dacoits and criminals fired 139 times on the police in response to which 61 dacoits and bandits were killed. In the above incidents, 80 dangerous robbers, bandits and anti-social elements were rushed to the hospital with injuries. One policeman was martyred while 21 policemen were injured in such attacks by the miscreants. Police registered 26,989 FIRs, including 121 FIRs of dacoity, 10,289 FIRs of robbery and 16,579 FIRs of motor vehicle theft.

On the direction of IG Punjab, priority measures for the welfare of the force are underway and 2.2 billion rupees have been spent under various categories of welfare, including 662 million for medical expenses of police personnel, 286 million as wedding gifts and 253 million were given for educational scholarships, 30 million rupees for burial expenses, 133 million rupees for maintenance allowance and 85 million rupees were given for the last basic pay.

IG Punjab has directed to beef up security arrangements of mosques, Imambargahs and other sensitive religious places in connection with Ramadan. He directed that patrol teams of Dolphin, Peru should increase their patrolling plan and working hours.

On the direction of IG Punjab, a departmental promotion committee session was held at the Central Police Office, in which 15 senior scale stenographers were promoted to the rank of private secretary and one private secretary Abdul Qadir to the post of Assistant Director as per merit and seniority.

Among the senior scale stenographers promoted to the posts of private secretary are Rana Muhammad Akram Khan, Muhammad Ayub, Khalil Ahmed, Muhammad Aqeel and Muhammad Ibrahim, Syed Muhammad Salman, Asif Jilani, Wasim Saleem, Wasim Mehboob Alam, Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Shafiq, Muhammad Irfan Tahir, Syed Naveed Anjum Zaidi, Imtiaz Yusuf and Ghulam Fareed.

AIG Admin and Security Amara Athar issued notifications for promoted Stenographers and Assistant Director. IG Punjab has issued instructions to all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to hold promotion board sessions regularly in their regions and districts and the ACRs of the employees whose ACRs are incomplete should be completed as soon as possible so that promotion eligible staff may be given their departmental right without delay.

He further said that notifications of those promoted in the Promotion Board Sessions should be sent to the Central Police Office at the earliest.

Furthermore, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that for the rehabilitation of helpless and homeless children and youth trapped in the mire of drugs addiction, preferential measures shall be taken from the platform of Punjab Police Protection Centers.

IG Punjab said that to provide medical aid and social security to these helpless children and youth, the Punjab Police and four private organizations working in this regard have agreed to take joint measures, through which homeless and helpless children and youth will be made useful citizens of the society through rehabilitation.

According to the details, IG Punjab and officers and heads of four institutions Ehsaas Rehabilitation Center, Aas Indus Rehab, Grace Rehab and Phonix Foundation for Research and Development signed the MoUs in a ceremony held at Central Police office.

The Punjab Police and the four institutions will work together to provide treatment and rehabilitation to children and youth trapped in the mire of addiction.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that these children and youth who deserve social attention and support will be brought to the relevant institutions after registration in the police protection centers where the doctors and experts of these institutions will rid the children and youth of the scourge of addiction and they will be made useful citizens by mutual efforts.

In the ceremony, SP Operations Model Town Lahore Amara Shirazi gave a presentation about the problems and situation of homeless children and youth trapped in the scourge of addiction.

Mohammad Nadeem Ashraf Chaudhry, CEO of Ehsaas Rehab Center while appreciating the project of Punjab Police said that this initiative of Punjab Police to rehabilitate homeless children and youth addicted to drugs is commendable.

Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chairman Grace International Rehab Center, said that the future of hundreds of destitute children and youth is beginning to brighten the future of such children with these efforts at the public and private levels.

Dr Zahra Moazzam Provincial head AAas Rehab trust said that due to the measures taken under the MOUs, children and youth trapped in the quagmire of addiction will be saved from participating in the world of crime.

Dr. Noor-ul-Zaman Rafiq, Phonix Foundation for Research and Development, said that the protection centers of Punjab Police are leading to play a very effective role in community policing and the new project will also be an important milestone in the service of humanity.

DIG R and D Zeeshan Asghar, AIG Admin Amara Athar, SP Operations Model Town Lahore Amara Shirazi, MS Fountain House Dr. Imran, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Umair and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Plausible initiative of IG Punjab for promotion of traffic wardens, summary for 506 new posts of senior wardens has been sent to Punjab Government

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has said that departmental promotion as per merit and seniority is the basic right of every police officer and official which they will get in any case. IG Punjab has taken a positive step to resolve the long-standing issue of promotion of Traffic Wardens and has sent the summary of 506 new posts of Senior Traffic Wardens to the Government of Punjab for approval.

According to the details, hundreds of wardens serving in major districts of the province, including the provincial capital Lahore, will be promoted to the next scale. 271 wardens in Lahore, 90 in Rawalpindi, 75 in Faisalabad, 45 in Multan and 25 in Gujranwala will become senior traffic wardens while no additional expenses will be incurred on the government exchequer due to the abolishment of old vacant seats. IG Punjab said that paving the way for career promotion will boost the morale of all wardens and improve the traffic management across the province.

Dr Usman Anwar directed the traffic wardens to perform their duties more diligently than before and along with issuance of license, be courteous to the citizens on the roads and do not leave any effort in the smooth flow of traffic. Dr. Usman Anwar has signed the summary for the promotions of traffic wardens and has sent it to the Punjab government for approval. IG Punjab said that with the approval of the new posts, the service structure of the traffic wardens will be strengthened and they will ensure that they perform their duties with more hard work, diligence and dedication.

IG Punjab distributed cash awards of around 11 lacs and certificates of appreciation to 56 officers and officials of Lahore Police for their excellent performance

Lahore, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed the police force to perform their duties with full determination, sincerity and spirit of jihad for protection and service of lives and property of citizens. IG Punjab said that be a wall against those oppressors who attack the life, property and honour of aggrieved, orphans, widows and the weak and ensure strict legal action against such heartless anti-social elements. IG Punjab emphasised upon that no effort should be spared for taking such callous criminals to their end.

Dr. Usman Anwar said to listen to the problem of every person who comes to the police station with good manners and attention and to make a contact of sympathetic lawyer with victims of civil matters so that their problems can be resolved. IG Punjab said to provide help, support and guidance to the citizens suffering from difficulties and crimes because by solving the problems of the citizens with our power and authority we can make this world beautiful and the world hereafter.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that prizes of eight crores are being distributed to the best performing officers and personnel in all the districts of the province into phases and whoever will perform well will be encouraged at all levels. IG Punjab expressed these views while addressing the best performing officers and officials of Lahore Police in a ceremony organized at the Central Police Office today.

According to the details, Dr. Usman Anwar distributed awards and appreciation certificates worth about 11 lakhs to 56 officers and officials of Lahore Police in the ceremony held at the Central Police Office. In these teams, officers serving in CIA, Investigation and other fields were included.

Inspectors were given 30 thousand, Sub-Inspectors were given 25 thousand, ASIs were given 20 thousand, Head Constables were given 15 thousand while Constables were given 10,000 per person along with ceremonial certificates. IG Punjab awarded CIA team with cash reward and certificates of appreciation for arresting the murderer of retired SP Farhat Abbas.

Similarly, other officers and officials were also awarded for tracing and arresting the suspects of robbery, dacoity, murder, kidnapping and other serious incidents. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar directed the awarded officers and officials to perform their duties more diligently, honesty and hard work. DIG IT Ahsan Younis, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Establishment Dr. Inam Waheed, AIG Admin Amara Athar and AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah and other officers were also present on this occasion.
