Third National Archery championship held at Punjab Stadium Lahore

Lahore, May 06, 2014 (PPI-OT): Third National Archery championship held at Punjab Stadium Lahore, today. Total Nine teams (men and women) across Pakistan including Pakistan Police, Air Force, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, FATA, Punjab University, Islamabad participated in the championship.

Chairman Olympic association and President Archery championship General retired Syed Arif Hassan was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Sports Board Police and Addl. IGP PHP, Sohail Ahmad Khan and others senior officers and officials were also present.

Police Team secured first position in the championship with 135 points, Islamabad teams stood second with 120 points whereas KPK stood third with 90 points. Prominent Police Players included, Shahzad Butt, Kashif Iftikhar, Safdar Malik and coach Waqas. Whereas Police women team was included Ms. Aneeta Shabbir, Asma Batool, Iram Khanam from Rawalpindi secured third position in the championship.

Lahore, June 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, today visited District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Rawalpindi and enquired about the health of police officers / officials who got injured as a result of violence by miscreants in Rawalpindi, yesterday.

RPO Rawalpindi, Akhter Umer Hayat Laleka, CPO Rawalpindi, Humayun Bashir Tarar and other police officers accompanied the IGP. Provincial Police Chief discussed the health and recovery issues of the injured officers / officials with the hospital administration in detail. While appreciating their sacrifices for maintaining law and order, IGP assured the injured policemen for his full co-operation.

A two member delegation of British High Commission meets Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, September 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): A two member delegation of British High Commission comprising of I.A.M Bracewell Capri and Douglas Mc-Acnna met with Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore, today. SSP Rustam Chauhan was also present during the meeting.

The delegation remained some time with Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera and have a detailed discussion about the working pattern of both country’s police. The delegation offered its full cooperation to enhance the capacity building of the Punjab police in counter terrorism, investigation and training areas.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera specially explained the working and operating procedure of counter terrorism department of Punjab police. IGP agreed to utilize the expertise of both countries with mutual collaboration. Later, IGP Punjab, presented souvenirs to the visiting delegates. They also thanked the IGP for his generosity.

Lahore, October 22, 2014 (PPI-OT): As many as 56 participants of 101 National Management Course along with 8 faculty members visited Central Police Office, Lahore today. Addtl. IGP, Training, Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman presented the welcome address on behalf of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera on being away from CPO due to some official engagements.

DIG Establishment, Nawaz Warraich, DIG PHP Suhail Chaudhry, AIG Logistics, Sharik Kamal Siddiqui, AIG Operations, Romail Akram and AIG Admin and Security, Sajjad Hassan Khan Manj were also present.

DIG Headquarters Farooq Mazhar briefed the participants about the operational pattern, current police working, budget, future strategic plans, H.R position, crime rate, law and order situation of the province, terrorism and militancy challenges being faced by the Punjab Police besides the exchange of police officers to other countries for training purpose.

Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Suhail Ahmad Khan briefed about the allocated budget along with the shortcomings being faced by the Punjab police. Addtl. Inspector General of Police Punjab distributes appreciation letters and cash reward worth rupees 125000 among 6 police officials

Lahore, March 24, 2015 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera today distributed appreciation letters and cash reward worth rupees 125000 among 6 police officers and officials at a simple ceremony held at Central Police Office, Lahore.

DIG Headquarters Punjab, Farooq Mazhar, AIG Discipline, Dr. Inam Waheed, PSO to IGP, Tariq Rustam Chauhan and other officers of CPO were also present on this occasion. The ceremony was held in recognition of these officers for discharging excellent performance regarding the recovery of a three years old baby girl Liaba. She was kidnapped two days back on 22nd March from the area of Police Station Gulberg and was recovered safely from the kidnappers by adopting a successful operational strategy.

While talking in the ceremony IGP appreciated the officers / officials for their outstanding performance. He assured them that the encouragement of such professional and hardworking officers will be continued. The officers / officials who got reward included DSP Nasir Mehmood Bajwa and Inspector Zulfiqar Ali got CC-I, whereas, T/ASI Shahbaz Ahmad 50,000, HC Muhammad Imran 25000, Constable Azhar Ali 25000 and Constable Muhammad Kazam got 25000 cash award.

Consul General of China meets Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, April 08, 2015 (PPI-OT): Mr. YU BOREN Consul General of Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore along with 02 members delegation met with Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore. Deputy Consul General WANG DAXUE and Consular Attache, ZHAI YINGLIN were also present in the meeting.

The delegation remained some time with the IGP and discussed the matters of mutual interest with each other particularly the security of the Chinese experts working on various development projects in the province came under discussion. Mr. YU BOREN expressed his satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the Punjab police for their experts both at their work places and residences. He also thanked the IGP for this favour.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera assured the delegation that Punjab police will continuously extend its cooperation towards brotherly country’s experts. He also told the delegation that Punjab police is considering to appoint the Chinese language translators to bridge the communication gap between their experts and the police security officials. IGP also briefed the delegation about the Counter Terrorism Force in detail.

Inspector General of Police, Punjab held RPO conference through video link at Civil Secretariat, Lahore

Lahore, May 26, 2015 (PPI-OT): In order to review the Implementation on National Action Plan, restructuring of Traffic Police, settlement of pending promotion cases and security of foreign experts working on all development projects, Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera hold RPO conference through video link at Civil Secretariat, Lahore.

On this occasion, all senior officers of CPO including Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Nasim ul Zaman, Addl: IGP Operations Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Training, Usman Khattak, Addl: IGP Investigation, Tariq Masood Yasin, Addl: IGP PHP, Javed Islam, Addl: IGP Traffic, Rai Altaf, Addl: IGP Special Branch, Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Addl: IGP CTD Punjab, Rai Muhammad Tahir and Commandant Punjab Consabulary, Hussain Asghar were present.

IGP directed all the RPOs to expedite the implementation on National Action Plan in the light of Appex Committee’s decisions as a front line force on war against terrorism in the province. In video conference, restructuring of Traffic Police, Punjab was decided. It was also decided that a unified traffic warden system will be introduced in all cities of the province with a view to improve the traffic system, flow of traffic and redressal of public complaints in this regard.

It was also decided that in future the posting tenure of traffic officers will not be more than three years and all officers / officials will be repatriated in their parent departments from Traffic Police. IGP was told that 500 traffic officers have been transferred so far under these instructions.

The conference also decided that all field officers will directly monitor the licensing branches in their respective districts and will also take strict action against all those black sheep of these branches who caused bad name of the department. All officers and officials having criminal record and involved in corruption will not be given important postings, decided in the conference.

The conference also decided that all field officers will ensure the completion of pending promotion cases and forward them to CPO within the period of one month, so that the unrest among the officers could be redressed in this regard.

IGP also directed the RPOs to beef up the security at police lockups and police stations to stop the practice of criminals escaping from the police custody. They were also directed to ensure the setting up of bunkers on both sides of the police pickets besides the officers deployed on these pickets must use the bullet-proof jackets and equip with latest weapons.

Minimum deployment at these police pickets will be 1-4, decided in the conference. All RPOs will also hold a meeting with their investigation officers on daily basis who are investigating the heinous crime cases and will submit their findings to CPO office directly. The security of all foreign experts specially Chinese engaged in all development projects in Punjab was reviewed in detail and it was decided that fool proof security of these experts will be ensured at any cost.

While directing the field officers regarding the crime situation in Punjab, IGP stressed upon them to personally go into the field and monitor the crime in their regions and take all out steps to redress the complaints of the public by providing them speedy justice. He also directed that all out efforts must be taken to ensure the security of the minorities and their holly places in the province.

He also directed the RPOs to take all received threat alerts of various agencies very seriously and set their security strategy accordingly. Keeping in view the prevailing situation, search operations, general hold ups, snap checking, besides the security monitoring of vulnerable places, important offices, airports, railway stations, bus terminals, markets and banks will be continued, decided in the conference.

Lahore, August 04, 2015 (PPI-OT):Security will remain on high alert and search operations will be continued across Punjab besides, snap checking of vehicles having unauthorized blue lights, green number plates and tinted glasses across Punjab. Similarly, a serious crack down will be started against the criminals, terrorists and their facilitators. On being a target of terrorists, all officers / officials will strictly follow the given security guidelines.

These decisions were made by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera during video linked RPO Conference at CPO, Lahore today. Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Nasim-ul-Zaman, Addl: IGP Operations Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Legal Punjab, Ali Zulnorain, CCPO Lahore, Capt. (R) Amin Wainse, DIG Headquarters Punjab, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Operations Punjab, DIG Operations Punjab, Amir Zulfiqar, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Nawaz Warraich, DIG Operations Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, AIG Discipline, Dr. Inam Waheed, AIG Legal, Kamran Adil and other senior police officers were also present on this occasion.

The conference also decided to start a serious crackdown against the facilitators of hardened criminals and terrorists in the province. It was also decided to strictly implement on the security SOP of minorities and their worship places. All field officers will directly monitor the security of the banks on daily basis and no negligence will be accepted in this regard, decided the conference. The decision to give fire training for 3 to 6 months by the police to the security guards of the banks was also finalized in the conference.

The arrest of hardened POs and to expedite the process of head money of these POs was also decided, besides, the field officers will directly monitor the patrolling teams day and night in their areas. Formal and informal inspections of police stations twice in a month will be essential for the field officers.

Process of the force promotions will be completed within the period of two months, decided in the conference. All officers were directed to open their doors for the timely redressal of the public complaints and holding of Police Darbars on monthly basis for resolving the issues of the force in their respective districts of the field officers. Conference also decided to provide 100% fool proof security to all Chinese experts working on various development projects of the Punjab government.

Australian High Commissioner along with two member delegation meets Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, August 06, 2015 (PPI-OT):Australian High Commissioner along with 02 members delegation met with Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore. Australian High Commissioner, Miss Margaret Adamson remained some time with the IGP and discussed the matters of mutual interest with each other. Later, IGP presented souvenir to the Australian High Commissioner.

Security beefed up across Punjab

Lahore, August 16, 2015 (PPI-OT):In background of Attock incident, security has been beefed up across Punjab on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera and the Force will perform the security duty as per given positions.

This was stated by IG Punjab while talking Media persons just after reaching Attock. He said that the Punjab Police has become the front line Force in war against terrorism and crackdown against these subversive elements will remain continued.

He further stated that thorough inquiry will be conducted into this incident and the involved elements will not be spared. The PPO said that the martyrdom of Col. Shuja Khanzada is the National loss but the morale and courage of the Police Force will not be shattered at any cost.

IG Punjab also paid rich tribute to the Shaheed DSP Shoukat Hussain Shah. DSP Shoukat Hussain Shah joined the Police Department in 1998 as Inspector. His age was 40. He left behind one widow and one daughter as bereaved.

It may be recalled that in Attock Bomb Blast, total 16 died including a suicider and 23 got injured. IGP will attend the Namz-e-Janazah of Shaheed Col ® Shuja Khanzada and Shaheed DSP Shoukat Hussain Shah at Police line Attock respectively.
